Bistro Boudin - San Francisco, California

Monday, August 04, 2014

This industrial-chic San Francisco waterfront restaurant not only boasts local history but offers outstanding cuisine & some of the best bay views in the city.

Made a reservation prior (which I highly recommend) & was seated promptly upon arrival. The moment we stepped through the doors, our senses were taken on a whirlwind adventure. We instantly smelled the aromas of freshly baked bread. Upstairs, we reveled in the bar and lounge as we made our way to our candlelit table surrounded by panoramic sights of Alcatraz, Angel Island, and Marin. We then feasted away while watching the sun set on the bay.

For starters, we enjoyed their Crab Avocado Roll (Dungeness crab, tomato arrabiatta, balsamic reduction, petite rainbow greens) paired with a glass of Pinot Grigio - Caposaldo & a pint of Karl Strauss "Red Trolley Ale". For entrees, we had their freshly baked Boudin Sourdough Bread Bowl with Traditional Clam Chowder & their Dungeness Crab Mac & Cheese (Aged Vermont cheddar cheese, fresh cream, and freshly picked Dungeness crab with buttered sourdough bread crumbs). This was the perfect amount of food and taste that left us (& our tastebuds) overly satisfied.

Even if you're not hungry, stop on by & see the tour or peep in at the artistic bread display. It's definitely the perfect place to start any San Francisco trip... especially if it's your first time!
